1. Overview

Envi (the "Application") is a personal finance budgeting tool built with a backend-first architecture. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, protect, and use your data when you use our mobile applications and related services.

2. Data Collection and Plaid Integration

To coordinate your budget, Envi integrates with Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid") to gather information from your financial institutions.

  • Credentials Security: Envi never stores, transmits, or has access to your banking login username or password. Your credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure overlay.
  • Information Gathered: Plaid shares transaction history, balance information, and basic account identifiers with Envi to sync your budget progress.
  • Third-Party Terms: By connecting your bank accounts, you grant Envi and Plaid the authority to act on your behalf to access this information. Plaid handles this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy, available at plaid.com/legal.

3. Local and Cloud Storage

Your account data (email, budget configurations, and sync keys) is processed and stored securely using Supabase hosting infrastructure.

  • Row-Level Security (RLS): We configure PostgreSQL Row-Level Security rules at the database engine level, ensuring your financial records can only be read or modified by your authenticated session.
  • Push Synchronization: We register device tokens (FCM/APNS) to trigger background widget refreshes. These tokens are tied to your account and can be unlinked at any time.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as your account remains active. You hold full rights to delete your account and all associated financial records.

You can request account deletion directly within the mobile application settings, or by visiting our Support Page. Account deletion triggers a cascading delete across our Supabase databases, permanently purging your user record, linked Plaid tokens, budget histories, and device tokens.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect infrastructure adjustments or regulatory updates. We will notify you of any revisions by updating the last updated date at the top of this document.
